Iraq will is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding with US energy company Orion on January 22 to tap gas at the oil field in the south of the country, the petroleum ministry said.

تراجعت أسعار النفط الجمعة، بعد يومين من تسجيلها مكاسب، وهي في سبيلها لتكبد خسارة أسبوعية إثر ضغوط من قوة الدولار ومخاوف من تباطؤ الإقتصاد العالمي.
ونزلت العقود الآجلة لخام 1.25%، أو 1.2 دولار، إلى 95.38 دولاراً للبرميل كما سجل خام غرب تكساس الوسيط الأميركي 1.23%، أو 1.1 دولار، إلى 89.39 دولار.
وتتجه عقود الخامين القياسيين لتسجيل خسائر أسبوعية تقترب من 3%.، وتسببت قوة الدولار في زيادة تكلفة النفط لحائزي العملات الأخرى بينما شهدت الأسهم الآسيوية والأوروبية إنخفاضاً.
وفي مؤشر على انحسار اختناق إمدادات النفط، قلت الفجوة بين السعر الفوري لبرنت وثاني أقرب شهر إستحقاق للعقود الآجلة بمقدار خمسة دولارات تقريباً عنها في نهاية تموز.
